This abomination belongs on the next episode of "How'd They Do That?".

    Front mounted 15 inch frames?

Is that really a Urei 815 box?

If the drivers are as listed, a 605B , 416A they predate Urei, must be a homegrown attempt to duplicate/anticipate the success of Urei, very interesting anyway.
If they are just guessing then could it be an early Urei? That horn also fit the 604-8g
    Thanks for sharing this "beauty"

It's a real PITA but if necessary you can mount 15s in front like this.

I suspect it's just thrown together.

It may well be a Urei box and just someone trying to put it back sort of.

As far as driver date, they could have been put in at any time.

Hopefully they used Gary's method of adaptation instead of grinding/machining off the angular supports as i've seen done in the past.

I've cut the slots in the wood before, it's a pain, that's for sure!

Many years ago a friend of mine owned his own roving disco. He had a BIG econoline van that he moved his equipment around in. The speakers because they were so big just stayed in the van when the equipment was being moved. So he figured since they were in his van all the time he might as well use them. So he ran a few wires to the back to drive Klipsch LaScala's. His car radio only put out about 10 watts..but it was MORE then enough to blast you out of there.
